Sri Lankan Diplomat Recalled from Seychelles
Some second-level Foreign Service officers are in line for
promotions under Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera’s plans to
depoliticise Sri Lanka’s diplomatic corps.
The Minister said he intends to restrict the number of politically-appointed heads of missions to 19, while the country has 66 overseas missions. It was not immediately clear whether Sri Lanka had sufficient first-level Foreign Service officers to help meet this ambitious target.
“We may have to promote some of the second-level diplomats,” he told the Sunday Times. “I also think it’s high time we injected the system with some new diplomatic blood. There are a lot of talented people who may not be that old, who I feel are much more capable than the people who have been posing as ambassadors in the last few years.”
The Minister said Sri Lanka’s diplomatic corps will be completely overhauled. “It’s a dreadful mess here,” he sighed. “The politicisation is unbelievable.” Thirty-one—over half—of Sri Lanka’s missions abroad are headed by political appointees. These include consuls general. On Tuesday, letters went out to 27 heads of missions, giving them a month to report back to Colombo.
Among those recalled is former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s cousin, Udayanga Weeratunga, who has served in Moscow for an unprecedented eight years. High Commissioner to India, Sudharshan Seneviratne will retain his post until after President Sirisena’s visit to New Delhi in February.
The shakeup will happen at all levels, Minister Samaraweera vowed. “First step is heads of missions,” he explained. “If we are to recall all of our political appointees together, many of our missions will collapse because 70 to 80 per cent of them are political. We have to do this step-by-step.”
“I am insisting that the earlier formula of 70:30 will be adhered to,” he continued. “That is, 70 per cent of appointees will be from the Foreign Service and up to 30 per cent for political appointments. But even the latter must be of the highest quality and calibre.”

No different to Pl,with the exception that Rajapaksa did not recruit Foreigners as their Ambassadors. Many Seychelles Ambassaies or consultates should also be closed.PL has opened Consulates in countries, unknown to Seychellois ,with no relationship with, and have no reasons to exist.E,g Consulates Malawi,Swaziland,krejekistan,Usbekistans....maybe even Afhganistan....consulates open fo one purpsoe namely facilitate money laundering. Many of those consulates should be closed, for it serve no purpose and just extra expends on tax payers, money that could be used to e,g better healthcare, promte Solar energy, organizations that deals with drug addicts, domestic violence .etc....Like under Rapajkasa in Sri Lanka,,in Seychelles all government officials are appointed by dictator in chief..be it judges,Elelction Commisionars,Poilice Chief,Ambassadors,Chief pilots, you name it.....
ReplyDeleteNo doubt the Sri Lankan Ambassy opened to facilitate money laundering Via Seychelles will also be closed.Pl will try to tell us it did not know anything...though the ig showcase Michel organized to welcome his crooked friend Rajapaksa was well-tuned and oiled and organized to fool Seychellois and hide Rajapaksa/Pl real organized criminal activities.Thinking he was folloing Seychellois,Michel has finished up Fooling himself....Y Pe dans dan son prop kaka.
ReplyDeleteWhen would DIU nad Pl temporarily closed Rajapaksa Beatuy clinic, and open an investigation.Should not that be a normal process Pl?
ReplyDeleteSirisena is not wasting time.
ReplyDeletehe has a mission.
and this mission is to kleen up de house.
hope the same to our seychelles in 2016.
There was no reasons to have a Sri Lankan Ambassy in Seychelles.....It was opened in a hurry..with the full support of thug Michel to facilitate money transfers which was them laundered. And you know what?Pl pretends to ignore the organized criminal activies with Rajapaksa..though every Seychellois saw in action on the arrival of Rajapaksa (State)Visit.....fanfare,red carpet,stealband...bunch of roses,BMWs,etc....
ReplyDeleteU rember how fast MIhin Ariline was licensed to operate via Sir Lanak/Seychelles8literally overnight) and operations started I think 24 hours later.....But Not For Mr Afif new Airline......Pl is trying everything to impede mr Afifi operating his Airline(though it should be encourage instead by government)just to ensure Eithad monopoly. What for crooks are those Pl monkeys.
Hooray! President Maithripala Sirisena has re-instated the former Chief Justice of Sri Lanka who was sacked by Rajapaska for making legal rulings that were against his government. The former attorney-general who was put in to replace her, Mohan Peiris, has been asked to leave. "The chief justice was restored and the imposter was asked to go," said an official quoted by AFP news.
ReplyDeleteDoes this ring a bell to what could happen in Seychelles when Michel is thrown out of office in 2016? There are so many imposters everywhere in the Seychelles Government, starting with our own Attorney General Govinden, Justices, Ministers, Foreign Consuls/Ambassadors, Advisers, Police Officers, CEO's and many others. There will be 'les pleurs et grinsement de dents'
The risks of a more painful recession than in 2008 is real, since many emerging markets have been drawn into the Global Debt Morass.
ReplyDeleteDebt laon will increase pl,that means alos seeing the devaluation of currency...are heading in Zimbabwe direction..whereby Pl might need to print worthless billion notes and make all Seychellois billionaires without money in their pocket?
ReplyDeletepL PREMEDIATEDLY ALLOWS FOREIGNERS TO RAPE OUR SOVEIREGNTY---BY ALLOWING Indian eXAPTS TO ILLEGAL MARCH IN RELIGIOUS PROCCESSION IN OUR cHRISTIAN STREETS...pL ;nation ;sbc ADVERTISE IT AS IF IT Seychellois WHO HAD BECAME HINDU AND WANT TO MAKE IT LOOKS NORMAL.
ReplyDeleteSTOP ILLEGAL hINDU EXAPTS RELIGIOUS CELEBRATION IN OUR LAND---STOP RAPING OUR SOVERIEGNTY pL...sTOP SEELING OUR PATRIMONY MONKEYS--ELSE YOU WILL HAVE YOU LITTLE DONKEYE HEAD BLOW UP IN PIECES IN 2016...cHANGE NOW OR CHANGE WILL COME TO U.
Like under pl,ambassadors are finger picked by president ,but only that most of them are foreigners which is a gross abuse of seychellois constitution and zhe sense of sovereignty
ReplyDeleteMichel message to Oppostion is"BEAT ME IF YOU CAN" though Dictator Michel is fully aware that elections in a police state and thouh citizens hardly expect to peacefully replace a dictator through the ballot box.But also because in in dictatorship, politcal leader and potential opponent are likely to sufer information shortages, because political transparency is seriously circumscribed.
ReplyDeleteRead what Michel said when Asked by LAMAURITIENNE NEWPAPSERS on "Arab colnizing Seychelles"Michel said that ;HALF OF SEYCHELLES TEORRIRTORIES WOULD NEVER BE OCCUPIED BY ARABS--- inother words Michel thinks that HALF of Seychelles should be for ARABS and half stays for Seychellois ...as if Seychelles belongs to him....
ReplyDeleteThis editor had a pain in the ass to edit the interview with JAM as he spoke the franswa, nek nek nek JE Je Je Je,,,,,suis Je suis, please forgive our beloved president, he did not have his telephroter handy, Son let demand ti dan son pos deryer,
ReplyDeleteYe,,,for Pl criminals ,our Outter islandsare not our teorritories but rather private islands belonging to fami8ly Rene and Savy, and Pl thugs...This donkey criminal activity of disppossion must be astopped be all means. When asked about the debarred of our health system and why now many Seychellois go to Mauritius for operations .Dr Michel teold the Mauritian jupranlist that it is because Seychelleois wants more...."Well donkey that means"the want more because the do not have it in Seychelles then go abroad because Pl failed to provide the standard of services expected and because of the worsening of the standard of health provide by Pl.....
ReplyDeleteI would have liked that this journalists questions Seychellois on the streets..instead of allowing Michel to blah balh and defend his mountain of failures. And if our heralth service was GOOD as Michel think ,then foreigners in the region would Like Mauritius come to get our medical services instead of going elsewhere donkey.
I hope Pl .especially FieldMarshal Michel see how well -equipped Muaritius Specuial Forces are...:Each soldier a headset,rADIO,THEY EVEN HAVE nIGHT vSION GOGGLES.wATERPROFF uNIFORM..usa MADE SUB mACHINE ....WHEN YOU LOOK AT THEM ..ONE IS IMPRESSED...GIVING A GOOD IMAGE OF mAURITUS AND REFELCTS Mauritius PROFFESIONALISM.....oF COURSE TAZAR SOLDIERS ARE HIGH PROFESSIONAL TOO,COMAPRE TO MOST African COUNTRIES ,,,BUT UNLIKE mAURTITIUS....pl GOVERNEMNT EQUIPED OUR mNE IWTH OBSOLATE,SECONDHAND...EQUIPEMEMNT FROM India...E.G uZI SUBMACHINE GUN DEVELOPED IN 1954 BY ISrael and since years are no longer being used in professional Special forces except ppor countries like Idian,Pakistans ,Afganistan...
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that came to my attention is also our RIOT POLCIE FOFOCERS...equipeed with a long wooden stick (longer then them)a pick up ,,eyactly the kinds to same style as in India,Pakistan,Afgannistan,Nepal........making Seychellois look backwarded and primitive.......
Seychelles Sepcial forces ,RIOT police etc...... need better than these old ,1930 equipment ...this do not reflect Seychelles ...but make us look like those still backwarded countires like Nepal ,Afgannistans......and these shit must be stop
It is clear Pl after robbing us,Bankrupting have no money......the only thing Pl does is begging.....that it cannot even purchase for TAZAR and for each soldier a Night VISION GOGGLES;A waterproof uniform with integrated MUSTANG lifevest)and modern submachinegun, each soldier a radio with headsets.......but rather depend on obslolate ,1930,1954 equipment s that only the poorest countires in the world are still using.
As A patrio,i an Adshame to see ,Out SPECIAL FROCES ,which one of the best In Africa ,If not the Best....with those old, outdated equipments and not properly equipped..or equipped with old stuff of another age....
For Michel that is modernization-----I could understand him...He used an Ak47 and still nostalgic about old Soviet made eapons thT NO ONE TODAY WANRTS EXCEPT PPOR ,COUNTRIES.
if YOU DONOT BELEIVE CHECK ON YOUR INTERNET---cutlass exercise "2015..YOU WILL SEE HOW GOOD EQUIPED mAURITNA SPECIAL FORCES ARE... AND THAT OF Seychelles WITH THOSE INDAIN MADE OLD STUFF.
I WOULD GIVE pL DONKEYS AN IDEA OF HOW Seychellois WANT TO SEE THEIR SONS WHO PUT THEIR LIFES AT STAKE NAMELY TAZAR SHOULD BE EUIPQED...jUST AN IDEA
ReplyDelete-
-Waterproof uniform(those doing marietime operation) with integrated life vest MUSTANG type
-Submachine gun MP7 A1 ,,with collimating sight,integrated touch,laser beam.
Each soldier must have a personal radio with headset
-Each Soldier a night Vsion goggles
:Better Bulletproof Vest that protect their body well..not like now ..you see them boarding ships with a bulletproof vest that leaves both sides of the body unprotected..
Stop bullshit our young ,determine men in Unifrom Pl...Stop stealing and use our money to equipped our soldiers with the best equipment possible...not those old ,absolute shits from India.
Fieldmarchal Michel should look at the mauritian Special forces, zhen he might get an idea what medern, well equiped special forces mean.i saw pictures of TAZAR in tge Cutlass Exercise taking place in Mauritius as we speak.....our young men, excel when it comes to conducting boarding operations..They showed high quality of team work,,zheir actions well coordinated ezc..in a world, tazar seems more proffessional when it comes to operationd, but looking them in zhis big helmet likevthose used by US military on D~day, the big red sailor lifevest, and old ak ,47,,make them ree resemble of those special forces szill amateurs from Djibuotie,Uganda,Commores etc...i feel bad for zhem, for they among African best special forces, but have been redicule and put into zhe same level to Djibuotie Special forces who sprcial forces came the training in an overroll used b normal by street cleaners inmany countries.
ReplyDeleteThat not the modernity michel think it is and he does not reflect our country.Michel gave tazar UZI submachinegun built in 1954 by Isreal, andvno longer use by any modern special forces.a littlr radio, thedesigned a zoy for kids,,etc.etc...in a word, old left indian sprcial forces materials which make us esprcially like in zhis Cutlass exercise being watched by many nationd military rediculous, look old fadhion, with old tools...its a shame Fieldmarshal Gield...it reglects michel age and generazion.
On AMAZON WEB ..o.e can buy Night vision gogles use by special forces form 300 --dollar an ARMASIGHT VEGA,,a YUKON~NVT for 450 dollars piece etc... night goglws afforbable even for a bankrupt country.
ReplyDeleteThe ak 47 could be replaced by Russian made new version of AK 47,speciall designed for Special forcws the OSN SATURN
