IS SEYCHELLES THE NORTH KOREA OF INDIAN OCEAN?
Jean-Paul David says he was hit in the face with a baton during a late-night raid. A young man was hospitalized on Monday evening after sustaining serious injuries from what he says was a police beating. Jean-Paul David, 25, who lost teeth and hurt his right leg in the incident, now says he is planning to lodge a court case against the authorities. The police have launched an investigation in the allegation of police brutality, confirmed Police Public Relations Officer, Jean Toussaint. TODAY visited Mr David in the D’Offay Ward yesterday afternoon. Speaking through his friend, on account of the heavy swelling around his mouth, he said the incident unfolded at 8:00 pm in Roche Bois, Belonie. A group of 15 people were hanging around the area, when he says a small pickup and a Terios pulled up. Without identifying themselves, police then shot a canister of teargas at them, sending the group running in every direction, he recounts. Along with everyone else, he set ...
Time for revolution. Where are the rest of the people?
ReplyDeleteToo busy selling land to the Arabs!
Deletesi ou pe rodd Wavel, y pe kasiet enba dizef Kalifa.
DeleteLepep clouded our future with tyranny and oppression. Seychelles has become uncertain and afraid of their very own future in their very own land. Decade of dishonesty, brainwashing the old and corrupt the young. At least these four brave men have the guts to start a fire...Let it burn in the heart of the nation and perhaps one day we will see the wind of change..

ReplyDeleteTruth in Seychelles is dead. Mudered on June 5th 1977..Perpetrators of ignorance.
ReplyDeleteWould it be a crime against the Seychelles government to wear a t-shirt that reads 'ANNOU REPRAN NOU PEI'? Let say we print a few hundred t-shirt and give out to the public; Would that be a crime ?

Wish there were more people like Ralph Volcere to stir the shit in Michel's arse. Govinden must be seeking legal advice from Ireland once again of how to deal with Volcere. Well done Ralph! the world is watching the legal manipulation of this fake regime.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for keeping Ralph Volcere in the political limelight but not good enough to be significant. The lack of participation can be seen as evidence of bad management skills and poor vision.

I agree with Chris:it was calculated civil disobedience that won the Tunisian,Lybian and others in history their civil rights. The greater danger threat to society is not civil disobedient but submission of individual conscience to the rogue regime.Such obedience led to the horrors we living under one party state.

ReplyDeleteNow,Shouzld Volcere or anyone in the Oppostion want change there is one thing to do namely UNITE.Publilius Syrus wants qoutes"Where thee is unity there is always victory"and i hope Volcere and all those who refuse to Unite the Oppostion keep this in mind and use it as a guide in their political desisions, especially when it come to bringing genuine change in our country.Real change begins in the hears tof individuals--the powerful and the powerless--not in politcal systems or ideologies. It is said that person who cannot change her/his mind cannot change anything. The heart and mind must wrok together, but if we must make a choice,we must always strive to give the heart the right of way.Change is a choice we choose to make.
GENE SHARP,the founder of Albert einstein Institute,a amna dedicated to advancing the study of nonviolent actions said"Dictators are never as strong as they think they are,and people are never as weak as they think they are".Dictators rule becuase the people they rule fear them, and beleive dictators are all powerful and untouchable.(NB-Sharp also wrote the book"Dicatorship to Democracy ,in which he gave 198 methods on how to topple dictatorships without violence and has been translated in 30 langauges. In fact in the up rising in Serbia during the Milosevic era,In lybia ,Egypt,Tunisia and elsewhere ,his teaching served as manaul to those who started the revolution in those countries.
Change is inevitable. On blance change is good;but there are eternal and inescapable truth about change.Dr Martin Luther King said.Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continues struggles".And so we must straigthened our backs and work for our freedom".
Many Seychellois have already straigthend their backs8E.g At La Misere,Takamaka,La Digue and are struggling"Now it is high time All Oppostion parites get together in Unity to fix the broken link in the change of Unity, thus make us powerful. Then our liberty and freedom will rise like the sun.Oppostion leaders must march on the same steps to the beats of the same drums the people are beating. Not in islation,or conducting one man show or stunt which often leads to failure.
FInally ,most successful changes that happened in recent history, happened becuase citizens lost their fears(which i can say it is already the case in Seychelles)and the second thing is to, have a UNITED OPPOSITION.
Unite the Opposition Volcere.Come of the round table and formulate a National Plan supported by all parties which in turn will automatically gain the support of the yet Divided majority(The people).

ReplyDeleteOur rights to democracy and respect for fundamental human rights has been recognized by the SPPF in 1993.
Until today, after 20 years, they are yet to deliver on the fundamental rights .
The PL have used every single excuse in the book: 1. the economy was bad;2. pirates attacked Seychelles;3. the rupee was artificial and had to be devalued; 4. the external debt was high; 5 the world went through a financial crisis.
The list of excuses of PL was indeed, impressive.
In that time, the SNP which was a most vocal opposition went to sleep for 10 years.
Today, the only way forward, is organized, calculated civil disobedience, until our rights are recognized.
To do this, there must be dialogue, common purpose, and unity in the opposition.
This premise, of course, trumps the comfort zone of sell out mega millionaire priest Wavel Ramkalawan, who intends on doubling his wealth in the next Five (5) years over his own followers stupidity.
Sorry folks, but its time to be frank and stop wasting time.

ReplyDeleteOvercoming fear together and finding courage together can only be achieved in unison. The people has a right to protest against an unjust system.Unite Opposition and become an example for the people to unity. We are now in the fierce urgency of creating the conditions of unity now.Oppostion political leaders should come out, stand up,and step forward and make a declaration of faith in the unity of the Seychellois people and pledge to surbordinate their narrow politcal interests to the cuase of a strong united Seychelles. It is an act of supreme courage to embrace Seychelles unity on a foundation of our common humanity.Unite behind the goal to get back our country now !

ReplyDeleteGo shopping.
It won't happen simply.seychellios don't have the guts.FAR have guts.He was a true leader with convincing leadership skills and the locals acknowledge that.they were prepared to follow him no matter the outcome.seychelles don't have a powerful and influencing figure like FAR.Did he have the ability to ensure that is the case?Probably yes.
