Everything is OK in the cohabitation in Seychelles… But is it really?

Well let me start by saying congratulations to Christopher Gill. He went on TV and said what we all say every day. Seychelles cannot continue having vinegar poured down our throats. Vengeance, hatred and victimisation will just finish the Seychelles everyone wanted to see change for the better. We were short-changed in 2016 and need real change this time around. It is time for more honest Seychellois like Christopher Gill to speak up and say enough is enough. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Culprits about corruption and corrupt practices are easily noticed and this is by watching who is making the accusations. Culprits are always looking for others to throw mud at with a bid to hide their very own acts of blatant corruption. In Seychelles today, this is so clear. Pat Pillay lodged a challenge to Ramkalawan and De Commarmond for a forensic investigator to plough into their accounts to reconcile salary and assets with what they own now. No one has accepted this challenge and this speaks volume. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Pat Pillay is forging ahead and not waiting for the referee’s whistle to blow to kick start the Presidential race. A small bird hinted that his running mate could well be the respected tourism lady Daniella Payet. They have nothing to lose and with LS new Executive Committee now in place they can be earning considerable mileage over Ramkalawan/ Afif, Faure/Meriton, Hoareau/ Bonnelame and Boulle (as he is expected as usual to participate as an independent candidate). This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Ramkalawan/Afif, Faure/Meriton, Pat Pillay/Daniella Payet and Boulle (unless he breaks with tradition) we now know, but like in all Democracies others will come forward and hopefully will not be barred this time by the Judiciary meeting behind closed doors with the lawyer/politician of the plaintiff. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Marc Hoareau is a name everyone is watching. The other ones being talked about are the former Minister Alain Ste Ange and lawyers team Elizabeth/Hoareau. Another group is also working as a sort of Economic Think Tank. These four groups are all solid candidates and this everyone recognises. This is showing that Democracy is starting to take root. The Captain who was also moving ahead fast has been pulled back and he is now in the fold but with a stronger determination to ensure the party works for Seychelles. All of the above have been quiet so far, apart from The Economic Think Tank that meets often. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Marc Hoareau, if he comes out, will have an edge over everyone else with his media empire. LDS, LS and LP have their weekly paper and Hoareau has the daily To Day. Hoareau is also solid with social media strategies and may be a wild card to pull the rug from under many feet that were too much in the clouds. This is the set that will make for a well contested election in Seychelles. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

The Praslin political rally was a total disaster and someone was heard saying on the boat as they were heading back to Mahe that the party needed to re-strategies’ because people were tired of all the aggressive talk that is full of hate, vengeance and venom that did NOTHING to alleviate their suffering, their cost of food, electricity, fuel etc. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Afif and Ramkalawan were at it again in FPAC this time whipping their favourite horse again. Musicians and entertainers heard them well and all realise that these fools will ‘pile lo’ anything as long as they are hearing themselves talk. Minister Ste Ange had the good idea for a Music Stadium and some are desperately trying to deprive this industry from what they duly deserve. “Pile, pil lo li” strategy cannot be the battle cry with which they want to run the country – God forbid. These people are just unable to see positivity in anything. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Regina Esparon was right to call for a relook at the resident of the elderly in her home district. But it is Regina’s responsibility to be asking questions, to be raising motions and to be presenting a Private Members Bill if nothing is being done for her district and for her electorate. Afif raised a private member’s bill for the offshore sector because that was dear to him, but Regina the time is now to do something for the Glacis residents. Take Afif’s approach, but centre it on Seychellois and not on the rich foreigners like Afif did. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Corvina and Casamar will need to be raised in the National Assembly just like Sarah Rene was. Skeletons must all come out of the closet and Flory cannot have a selective option anymore. Father, mother, aunt or French husband must all be scrutinized as well as Father Wavel with his Anse Royale property for 30000 rupees and Afif & Wife with two plots of land. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Frozen Budgets made the news and brought a smile on many faces because after the charade and the disruption it caused the budget is approved. A little power can make some people go crazy in their bid to be noticed, imagine if they had absolute power. Save Seychelles from such an ordeal. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Some believe that experts in the country are all seated in the National Assembly, but listening to them Seychelles realises they are everywhere but remain masters of NOTHING. Their waffling week after week has characterized them just as plain fools. This is a lesson many have not yet learned - be a flower pot and look intelligent even if the label will be thrown at you or talk for the sake of talking and show how stupid you are. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

The MALO arms sale was not raised when the disappeared gun issue was raised last week. Just trying to fool people with a lot of talk. The insincerity is a strategy of days gone by. Speak less but be transparent ensuring that friends or foe have to be seen as Seychellois in your work for Seychelles. Colour of party and those big funding cartels cannot be pulling anyone sideways because it just hurts the ordinary Seychellois. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Pat Pillay/Daniella Payet are speaking about what they will do and not what Ramkalawan is doing or has done. This is the politics Seychelles needs. Seychellois (apart from the couple of fanatics on social media) are tired of seeing leaders scrapping the bottom of old cast iron pots to find things to speak about. Do something to alleviate the suffering of Seychellois then say you have done it, if not shut up it is better for you all. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Seychellois Judges are now realising that their appointment is not secure anymore. The CAA can bring anyone they want down when and if they want as was uttered by an elected MNA after
a breach of protocol in a court room. Is that independence of the judiciary? Or is that political interference? All this because politicians with close ties to political leaders are sitting on this Authority. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Money transactions are a worry and Seychellois see this as what needs to be cleaned up. Taking 500 thousand rupees to just raise the case of a compulsory acquired property seemed crazy until the 5 million Dollars sum came up as the facilitation charged for getting four passports issued to a foreign family. Then taking money ahead of going to Assomption Island and this was 15 million dollars as ‘davans’. Money for no discussion on redundancies at Ste Anne – 500 thousand rupees. Money for no discussion on redundancies at Emerald Cove Hotel – 100 thousand rupees. Money for making it easy for redundancies at Air Seychelles – (to be finalised). Money for recognising Taiwan as an Independent State – to be finalised with 1 million USD part payment taken in 2016). This is so much corruption and answers are needed. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

25 million dollars was taken from ordinary Seychellois in the days of 400-dollar travel allowance. Where is the money? Who took it? Seychellois who lost most money from airport searches please speak to a lawyer and do a court case to get your money back. This National Assembly with an LDS majority will not do it. They need to protect Afif. All the talk about truth and reconciliation and nothing on this hardearned cash unlawfully stolen from Seychellois. All the tears and anguish this era caused must come to an end and ONE MAN knows all the secret of this sad era and also where the money went to. Ahmed Afif must speak the truth on that matter. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

Honourable or dishonourable - this is the question. A fight or two or three on Praslin, a night in a police cell by another is what the Seychelles National Assembly Members are now all about. One MNA simply said they follow the mentality of aggressivity from the top leaders and therefore all is possible and can be tolerated. Change was meant to be for the better, and Seychelles is just getting the wrong end of the stick. Dismissing these MNAs would be the honourable thing to do to show what could be expected if ever LDS formed a Government. Leadership today is seen as zero and clearly not the needed group to steer a better Seychelles. This is what some are saying is OK, but is it?

That is all for now. The LP Congress is coming and following the LS last week’s convention. Formalising Afif’s position is getting tricky because some big names are taking exception even if the Big Brother all the way in India has so dictated. Two big names are talking of switching allegiance if he passes over their head. LP has managed to put out the fire, but for how long. They are not performing and they are in need of a total reorganisation. Do not be fooled by the few diehards and their FB postings. The situation is really serious in LP as it is in LDS. Both sides were sleeping on their 2016 results and forgot the people came first, and all the talking and promises does not feed anyone. One is an expert at not answering letters, and the other, well he is just not able to meet people anymore. This one has gone too big for his boots. US Dollars has returned to the NAPA era. Calls are being made by banks offering to buy the US Dollars is different accounts. This is troubling, but more bad news can be expected because the country is focused of mud-slinging and the past as the economy freezes and confidence in the country fades away.

The freezing of budget has by itself caused harm and many small people are frustrated when they were told that Government is waiting for the National Assembly. Even in the Circus that was here recently there was better apparent coordination. The famous Assomption saga is far from dead. MFA is working overtime to present a watered-down proposal to let the tiger into the cage. One consolation is anyone associated with this affair will not be in office after the next election. A lady is in hiding for no apparent reason. Once the budding future Minister the most honourable of members said in the House from China, and also the inseparable friend of the Lady behind the gates of power and now sought after apparently to be used as the Assomption FIRST example. Chou the family is missing seeing you on the running track and this hurts our Pretty Sis a lot. A miserable K makes for a miserable family because we are all so very close. Get back to normal, please come back Chou and dump Blondy as she is not worth it. Chou cut your loses and come back to us to roost for ever after. The Air Seychelles parcel will need friends and family to support her as she is feeling used and abused as are most of those who voted for change in 2016.

Until next week,

Ugly B
