Seychelles Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter signed the Minamata Convention on Mercury behalf of the Republic of Seychelles at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the 27th of May. Seychelles becomes the 98th signatory state to the Convention.
The convention is designed to protect both human health and the environment from anthropogenic emissions and releases of mercury and its compounds
She signed convention of human health and the environment after Michel has destroyed and allowed foreigners to built in Reserves and National Parks and have been importing chickens teemed with unwanted anti-biotics from Brazil.
ReplyDeleteOn Health----Pp has allowed the use of the most toxic synthetic pesticides that exist on world market for decades now.Farmers ,the first victims,must breath in, on a regular basis those toxic pesticides that are causing all kinds and types of cancers to our people:miscariage,hormone disruption, genetic damage,.asthma,birth defects, damage,asthma,miscariage,etc.etc.etcv..
On the environment:Those pesticides penetrate into the soil then absord into the plants,vegetable and fruits we eat,but PP tells us you just have to wash them before eating.Once penetrated into the soil,the toxic pesticides are washed into rivers,affect underground animal,contaminate agricultural land(especially in our country where fertile land is limited)..the pescides affect beneficial insect species like BEES etc,,, but also non-target and endemic species and bring imbalance in the eco -system,.Is that protecting environment Potter?nO DONKEYX,IT creates more damge to both environment and the health of our people.The latter help increase HEALTHCARE COST DONKEY.While the former help destroy our balance of our fragile eco-system.
If you want to protect both environment and health Potter--stop the use of toxic pesticides and replace them by bio-,natural pesticdes,etc.....donkey ,this would be a genuine act of protection.Of course bio-pesticdes have also environment negative consequences but it is not that devastating as those PP forced our farmers to use.And of course in so casese synthetic pesticides may be necessary but their use must be well-controlled .

We donot need her where and here.She should go clean our beaches ,remove the tons of seaweeds that infest our beaches during the northeast monsoon so that we can start conveting those seaweeds into medications to boost growth and generate extra revenues for the country which would help us reduce our delendency from international aid,pay can our astronomic debt,imporve our crumbling healthcare ,education,and pension system.
