Breaking News: 2 former Navy SEALs found dead in Seychelles died of respiratory failure; drug use suspected

NAIROBI, Kenya — Police on the island nation of Seychelles say that two former U.S. Navy SEALs found dead aboard the ship Maersk Alabama died of respiratory failure and were suspected to have had heart attacks, possibly from drug use.
The police said Monday that a syringe and traces of heroin were found in their cabin. Police said samples are being sent to Mauritius for analysis to establish if the men had consumed "a substance" that could have caused the health failures.
The ship the men worked on, the Maersk Alabama, was the focus of a 2009 hijacking dramatized in the movie "Captain Phillips."
Officials named the two men as Mark Daniel Kennedy, 43, and Jeffrey Keith Reynolds, 44. They worked for the Virginia Beach, Virginia-based maritime security firm The Trident Group.

  1. Can NDEA confirm or deny that they lace powder with lanet to poison drug buyers since we are finding many people dying of the same cause and circumstance.
Last month a Canadian Sailor died the same way.
Every week, Seychelles Police picks up someone dead in a gutter or street.
This is most likely State Sponsored deaths since the cause of death is always the same and the person that commits it is systematically never caught.
In a micro state such as Seychelles, it is not possible for the State not to know who is peddling drugs and killer drugs at that.
Instead of chasing bicycles in La Digue for a little pot get to work NDEA.
NDEA is down to traffic duties.
    Get serious man.

  3. Six days ago a special reporter had this to say on the subject : "After joining my fellow journalists here on the island of Mahe, I have made my own conclusion that drug traffickers are pushing some dangerous and illicit drugs around. One gets to hear more about sudden deaths involving Canadian and Americans because they are foreign nationals but what about Seychellois? How many have died and certified as natural causes such as kidney failure etc..?. Seychelles have neither testing facility for toxicology nor qualified toxicologists, and the police I understand is zero in this domain of investigation. Bet you the person who sold the drug to the Canadian in the Hotel is the same individual who made contact with the American sailors. There you go Commissioner Quatre and Minister Morgan, don't be so dumb, follow this lead."
Now the cause of death has been published as 'Respiratory failure' of course the deceased had respiratory failures or they would not be dead! This government is as stupid as the pathologist who wrote this finding, he or she thinks the world would accept the garbage that they used to feed the Seychellois people with. Now they say that samples of stomach content, blood etc., are being sent to Mauritius for analysis. Not only they do not have Toxicologists but they do not have qualified Pathologists, postmortems are being performed as a routine but they are hopeless and unhelpful in criminal investigations. Countless of times foreign pathologists had been brought to the Seychelles by relatives of the dead to re-do the postmortem cause they felt unhappy with the postmortem results. Allez Seychelles!

  4. Holly krap! I thought after almost 40 years of statehood Seychelles could do all about a dead body. Now they have to send urine and stomach content to Mauritius for more test. Health ministry SUCKS under PP cronies. Sesel sa.

  5. You completely right.Since the creation of NDEA we have seen spetacular arrests of MARUJUANA dealers ,but not a single Hard Drug dealers, importer arrested or jailed .It seems they are protected by the system.Pp spend tax payers on REHABS but fail to deal with the grassroot cause of the fleoh which is apprehending the ESCOBARS.

Seychellois is decline, and one big problem is we the people refuse to condenm destrructive behavoir, they have lost perspective.

PP is failing the Nation as usual, for it has no willingness, real policy to deal with Narcotic trafficking, except now and then going on SBC to tell us "WE caught a guy with a few kilos of GRASS)and portrays its as a big success to cover up the real problem which is the Hard Drug fleoh,a vice resulting from PP laissez-faire policy which is a sign of complicity by Pp thugs with the Escobars.

Durg Dealing and trafficking has become one of PP's most lucrative illegal business like the FARC in MEXICO-------too many high offical invovle to expect PP thugs to really deal with the fleoh, that is killing a genration of young Seychellois.

PP should be amde responsible oor the continued increase of Hard`OTxic Drug on our shores.for as governemnt there is nothing concrete to sho Pp governemnt is doing anything serious to tackle the problem.

We indepedent we cannot always turn of others to do the job for us,elese it gives us the feeling of being inferiror and unable to tackle things ourselves. The problem of our Country is not becuase we took indepedent unlike some Seychellois think (we should have stayed a colony and would have been more successful--this is a false thoery for amyn countires who took indenependet are succewssful even more successful than still exisiting colonies like those under the Frnehcin the carribenas)We in the mess not becuase of indendence or not being abel to do things ourselves but becuase we were robbed our liberty, and ruled by idiots who in the first palce never be ruling us.Telling us that others should do this and that for or come do things for us in nothing than a slvaish mnetality which make us think we are not capable to stand of our own feets.

Should we call each time we in shit foreigners to do things for us,so we could consider thatn the presnets of Khalifa and the economic dependecy on him is Okay, and he should be our king.

Our people are talented and can do things by themsleves, stop the slavish mentally of always thinking others should come to do things for us..We Seychellois must firstly help ourselves beofre others come to help us.

  9. I am friends with the widow of one of the ex navy seals that died on the Alabama.
It has been very hard getting any accurate information. They screwed up the whole investigation and even "accidentally" lost samples from the autopsy. The is new evidence pointing towards Murder, but we need local contacts or people with information!
